The designer, whose full name was Lee Alexander McQueen, had requested in his will that his remains be taken to Kilmuir on Scotland's Isle of Skye, reports WWD.
“Lee cherished the times that he was able to spend on the Isle of Skye," read a statement by his family.
"He enjoyed the beauty, peace and tranquility.”
McQueen was found dead at his home in February. He was 40 years old.
