Malaika and Katrina to perform at different branches of same hotel for New Year's Eve

On New Year's Eve this year, Sheila and Munni are all set to clash at different branches of the same hotel.
While Malaika Arora Khan will be performing to Munni Badnaam Hui at the Sahara hotel in Amby Valley Katrina Kaif is all set to perform at the same hotel in Juhu.

Says a source, "Katrina and Malaika have never seen eye to eye with each other and this year the competition is between their individual chartbusters Munni Badnaam Hui and Sheila Ki Jawaani.

Each actress is intent on proving that hers is a bigger hit. Even when Katrina was dating Salman, they could barely stand each other and were just about cordial whenever they would meet.

Now, with New Year's eve coming up, both have been offered huge amounts of money to perform at different branches of the same hotel chain. "

The source adds that both Malaika and Katrina have even been offered the same amount of money.

"Both the songs are superhit and Katrina and Malaika have apparently both been offered Rs 2. 5 crore each to perform on New Year's Eve.

It will be interesting to see Katrina and Malaika try and outdo each other by performing to their own songs as well as to each other's songs. "

However, a source close to Katrina says, "Katrina has not yet decided whether she's going to perform this year though she has been offered potloads of money from various hotels for her chart-topping number Sheila ki jawani. For Katrina, her family has always come first and she always loves to spend Christmas with them. "

"This year too, she was planning to spend Christmas in London with them, as it's the only time of the year when the entire family comes together.

Tees Maar Khan releases during Christmas time and Katrina might get stuck in some post-release events too. So, as of now her New Year plans are not finalised, " added the source.

Salman Khan does a hot item song with sister inlaw

Salman Khan and his beautiful sister-in-law Malaika Arora have never before shared screen space, let alone performed an item song together.

The status quo changes this Tuesday (12 January) when the sizzling Malaika known to set the screen on fire with song- and-dance numbers like Chaiyyan chaiyyan (with Shah Rukh Khan) in Dil Se and Mahi ve in Kaante, is all set to do an item song with Salman Khan for the Abhinav Kashyap-directed Dabangg.

The song which goes with the raunchy title Munni badnaam hui darling tere liye is composed by Lalit Pandit. Salman’s new best-friend Farah Khan will choreograph the sizzling-hot track.

Malaika’s husband Arbaaz Khan who produces Dabangg confirms Malaika’s item song with Salman. “It’s a very earthy track in one of those rugged sweaty Bihari bars, something like Beedi jalaile on Omkara but different.

Malaika will play a dancer who has come from out of town to regale the revelers.While she will be dancing Salman joins her.”

While the rest of the songs in Dabangg are composed by Sajid-Wajid, the Salman-Malaika item song is tuned by Lalit Pundit.

Says Arbaaz, “When I heard the track I knew I had to have it in Dabangg.It will set the the charts on fire. And Malaika will certainly do justice to it.”

Although Arbaaz has a pivotal role in Dabangg he doesn’t share any scenes with his wife.

Says Arbaaz, “My hands are pretty full as producer and actor in Dabangg. I’m enjoying every bit of it.

We want the film to come out as something special, and not just another movie. Though it’s a full-on action-packed drama Dabangg will present Salman like never before.”

Arbaaz hopes to release Dabangg during Eid this year.

Mallika and Malaika on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa

The grand finale of the dance reality show "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa" will air on Sunday, May 31, 2009, at 8.00pm on Sony TV.

The three finalists - Karan, Baichung and Gauhar - will compete for the coveted title.

Celebrity guests Mallika Sherawat and Malaika Arora Khan will also be on the show.

Arbaaz Khan and wife Malaika shoot a seductive number for flim

Malaika Arora has shot for a seductive, sensuous number with husband Arbaaz Khan in Goa for Indrajit Lankesh's Prem Ka Game, (earlier titled Shaadi Ke Side Effects).

The song is called Mere dil pe tera hi haq hai where Malaika plays the temptress and the song has been choreographed by Piyush.

Arbaaz Khan says, "It's a dream sequence where I am fantasising about romancing this beautiful woman. I knew that Malaika was perfect for the song and I wanted her in the film as I believe she's my lucky charm. It's our first performance together." Malla does not have a role in the film, she only appears in the song. Khan adds, "Both of us have always wanted to do a film together but haven't been able to get anything which suits both of us."

Prem Ka Game is a light-hearted comedy about a married man, Prem (played by Arbaaz). He says the film deals with the roadblock in marriages called 'The Seven-Year Itch', "In one scene, he dreams of his fantasy woman (Malaika) and how he would seduce her and that's what our song is about."

Arbaaz says he felt no discomfort getting intimate for the camera with his wife, "I was extremely comfortable. But of course, there are no prizes for guessing who is the better dancer obviously Malaika is!"

According to Leena Mogre, it takes a good combination of a balanced diet as well as the right weight and fitness training for a woman to get a firm posterior. "Women in India do have an innate tendency to put on weight on the butt. To keep them fit, it is very important to eat a balanced diet. Besides, one must get into a routine of weight training, squats, lunges, step-ups and cardiovascular exercises," Mogre, who is the fitness trainer to Bollywood actresses like Katrina Kaif, Kangana Ranaut and Sameera Reddy among others, told over phone from Mumbai. "Even uphill running is a good option," added Mogre, who is the director of Leena Mogre's Fitness in India's entertainment capital. Shiv Inder Singh, managing director of Firefox Bikes Pvt Ltd that offers a range of cycles designed for the body structure of women, feels that among cardio exercises cycling can really help in getting a well-shaped butt. "There are various important benefits that cycling can offer to women, out of which the main one being shaping their butt. Moderate cycling helps reduce 35 calories in about an hour that makes cycling an effective weight control activity," Singh explained. Mogre agrees that cycling does help in shedding extra pounds, but weight-training does the additional bit of shaping up the posterior. Another option to get a perfect butt is yoga. "More than men, women come to me for butt sculpting, but one has to first determine things like the body structure of the person, the requirement and the limitations of the person to chart a right module," said Yatharth Sehajpal, a Delhi-based yoga expert. "If the person is overweight and has flab, then first we have to work on tightening that extra fat and only then we can emphasise on the backside and there are various set of asanas and exercises that one can use for butt sculpting," he added. Sehajpal's clients who emphasise a shapely butt are mostly women in their early 30s. Many of them are married. Some wish to get rid of their post pregnancy fat. Thanks to increasing awareness, women in India have started talking about their dissatisfaction with their butt and are consulting cosmetic surgeons to solve their problem. "One model came to me and said her backside was darker than the rest of her body. And to be able to confidently wear swim wear and bikinis, she wanted them to be lighter. I had to do spa peels on her backside to solve her problem. So yes, women are getting extremely conscious about their bodies," said Anup Dhir, senior cosmetic surgeon at Apollo Hospital. The trend of going under the scalpel for butt enhancement, lift and liposuction has emerged in the past five to 10 years, but it isn't so popular yet, said Dhir. "These procedures are more of a Brazilian or American concept where people can and are used to roaming around in thongs and bikinis on beaches. But such an acceptability has not seeped into India yet. Here breast enhancement is still 10-20 times more in demand than surgical treatment for butts. Such surgical treatments cost anywhere between Rs.60,000 and Rs.150,000, depending upon how complicated the procedure is. What's more, with the summer season setting in, women are preparing themselves to fit into sexy swimwear, shorts, chiffon saris or the favourite short black dress. So ladies, pick your way to shape your derriere and flaunt your clothes with panache.

New Delhi, June 10 (IANS) Model-anchor-item girl Malaika Arora thanks her five-year-old son Arhaan for whatever she is today."Arhaan is the best thing that happened to me. For anyone it's the greatest joy to have a child and for every mother her child is her weakness. And, yes, he is my weakness," said Malaika, best remembered as the "Chhaiya Chhaiya" girl.

alaika, who was here to launch a store last week, has been married to actor Arbaaz Khan for 10 years and says of her son: "Arhaan brought a lot of changes in me in terms of the person that I am and to my temperament as well. I really thank him for making me the way I am today."

The 34-year-old is all geared up for her first full-length role as an actress opposite Arjun Rampal in Suniel Shetty's "EMI".

"I am really excited about 'EMI'. I play Arjun's love interest in the film. The film talks about easy monthly instalments (EMI) and how people who take such loans are not able to repay them," Malaika told IANS.

On being asked if there are any films with Arbaaz in the pipeline, Malaika said: "There's no film as of now, but there is a song that I am doing with him. I have done a song with him earlier (for Shubha Mudgal's album 'Dholna'), but this is the first time I am pairing up with him for a film song."

The couple will soon be seen grooving to a number in Indrajith Lankesh's "Shaadi Ke After Effects".

Apart from her stint on television as MTV's popular video jockey, Malaika has played judge on reality dance show "Nach Baliye" and also hosted NDTV Imagine's music show "Dhoom Macha De".

Now, brother-in-law Salman Khan has also turned to the small screen as the host of reality game show "Dus Ka Dum".

"I have seen the promos of the show. They are really cool and I am sure Salman bhai would do a great job. I wish him all the best," she said.
